Saudi Arabia eyes next-gen neurodevelopment screening with SensoDetect

A quiet but weighty meeting unfolded in Stockholm when SensoDetect sat down with senior health leaders from Saudi Arabia. On the table was not another incremental gadget but something more ambitious. Objective tools that could change how children are screened for neurodevelopmental conditions across the Kingdom. The Saudi delegation included the Health Holding Institution, NUPCO, and the Public Health Authority. All three anchor the country-wide march toward high-quality care under Saudi Vision 2030.

The conversation was led by His Excellency Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al Jalajel, who chairs the Health Holding Institution and serves as Minister of Health. In his hands lies the mandate to raise care standards through digital thinking and bold reform. The room carried the tone of discovery and shared intent. It felt like one of those juncture moments when policy meets science and real-world change becomes possible.

How does it work?

At the heart of this collaboration is SensoDetect's flagship technology for ADHD screening. The tool is not guesswork and not a clinician's opinion hardened into a report. It listens to the brain itself. The system uses Auditory Brainstem Response. This means it records neural responses to sound and identifies measurable patterns linked to ADHD.

The company also opened the curtain on its research pipeline. A preclinical initiative for detecting Autism Spectrum Disorder in infancy. One early question guides it - can biomarkers reveal ASD long before behaviours are obvious? If the answer is yes, then early intervention could be triggered during the most plastic stage of child development.

Quoting their own clinical voice, Dr Mohamed Atwa put it: "This engagement represents a significant opportunity to address a substantial public health need with our objective screening technology." It is data speaking for the brain, not the other way around.

Why does it matter?

Neurodevelopmental diagnosis often involves paperwork, waiting rooms, delayed referrals, and stressful uncertainty for families. An objective screening tool feels like a cold glass of water in a desert. It cuts through subjectivity and speeds the path to care. Saudi health leaders see alignment with national goals. They want faster screening in primary care. Early detection saves money and improves life chances.

If scaled, such tools could shrink diagnostic queues across the Kingdom. Millions of children could gain earlier support for learning, behaviour, and wellbeing. A representative from SensoDetect captured the mood. "This dialogue is a pivotal step toward a partnership that could meaningfully expand our addressable market and impact the lives of millions of children." When technology, procurement, and policy move together, the effect ripples through generations.

Key priorities highlighted by both sides:

  • Rapid objective screening in primary care settings
  • Early detection protocols for ASD and ADHD
  • Stronger digital infrastructure in line with Vision 2030

The context

SensoDetect is not a stranger to the Kingdom. The company already operates and collaborates on Saudi soil, which lowers investor risk and shortens adoption time. Its Head of Clinical Research, Dr Mohamed Atwa, brings lived experience from the Ministry of Health and National Guard Health Affairs. That matters. Knowing how regulatory paths bend in the real world speeds progress more than any white paper can.

Clinical partners inside Saudi Arabia include Princess Nourah University and the Eradah Health Complex in Riyadh. These studies are building a regional evidence base. They also send a signal that the work is not far from research but rooted in clinics and real patients.

Both parties agreed to move forward with structured pilot programs in selected regions. Collaborative R&D for autism detection is also on the roadmap. NUPCO engagement would open the gate for national procurement at scale.

All eyes now turn to what comes next. Not a conclusion, but a beginning.
