M42, Oracle to advance healthy longevity and disease prevention

In a move that feels like the future arriving a few years early, Abu Dhabi-based M42 and Oracle Health have partnered to reshape the practice of medicine in the UAE. Their mission? To bring precision medicine and preventive care to the fingertips of clinicians — literally at the point of care. This partnership promises to merge genomics, AI, and healthcare data into a single, living ecosystem designed to keep people healthier for longer.
As M42's Group CEO Dimitris Moulavasilis put it, "We're paving the way for a future where healthcare is predictive, personalized, and accessible to all."
How will it work?
At the heart of this collaboration lies data — massive, interconnected, and deeply personal. The initiative integrates genetic information from the Emirati Genome Program into the Oracle Health electronic health record (EHR) system. That means when a doctor prescribes medication, they'll instantly see whether it's genetically suited to the patient.
Dr. Fahed Al Marzooqi, CEO of M42's Integrated Health Solutions platform, explained it best: "Being able to inform the physician at the point of prescribing regarding the level of genetic compatibility a patient has with a certain drug will increase the likelihood that the most effective medication is prescribed the first time." In short, no more trial and error — just smarter, faster healing.
The collaboration rests on three key pillars:
- Proactive healthcare: Using AI and analytics to shift the focus from treating illness to preventing it.
- Precision medicine at scale: Leveraging genomics to tailor treatments and interventions to each person's biology.
- Nationwide access: Giving every patient in the UAE secure digital access to their health record — anytime, anywhere.
Why does it matter?
Because it changes everything. By embedding pharmacogenomics directly into clinical workflows, M42 and Oracle Health are taking a giant leap toward medicine that anticipates rather than reacts. Doctors will prescribe with precision, patients will recover faster, and healthcare systems will waste less on ineffective treatments.
As Oracle Health's EVP Seema Verma noted, "Delivering pharmacogenomic insights at the point of care will help doctors provide more personalized care and prescribe medications that are tailored to a patient's genetic makeup." It's a win for patients, practitioners, and policymakers alike — and a clear nod to the UAE's ambition to become a global hub for health innovation.
The context
This partnership doesn't exist in a vacuum. It's part of a broader shift sweeping through healthcare — one where data and genomics drive decisions, not just symptoms. The UAE has already positioned itself as a leader in genomic science through the Emirati Genome Program, and integrating that data into clinical care is the logical next step.
By uniting M42's health-tech ecosystem with Oracle's digital backbone, this alliance aims to build a system where every citizen's health story is connected, continuous, and actionable. It's healthcare that learns, adapts, and improves with every data point — a model the rest of the world might soon be watching closely.
