Egypt’s Health Ministry taps Novartis to modernize cardiac catheterization system

Egypt's Health Minister, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, recently attended the signing of a new partnership agreement between the Ministry of Health and Novartis Egypt. This deal is about improving the way heart exams, known as cardiac catheterization, are done using computers.
It is a step in the ministry's strategy to work with private companies to offer better healthcare and to cut down on the wait times for these important heart tests.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry's spokesperson, mentioned that this agreement will help update the system through the help of Data Management Systems (DMS), a firm that focuses on making the health sector more digital and automated in Egypt.
The Health Minister has called for the use of patient data from the National Waiting Lists Project to help manage information better and enhance health tracking across the country. He stressed the need to keep an eye on patients after their heart procedures to make sure they're getting the best possible care everywhere in Egypt.
He also talked about the importance of preventing heart and chronic diseases through education and awareness. By analyzing the data of patients in health programs, the ministry can identify and help those at higher risk.
Ahmed Nassar, who leads the cardiology scientific committee at the ministry, explained that they follow global medical practices for heart exams and are working to digitize the process. This will help track patients' recovery after their procedures and assess the quality of centers providing these services.
Sherif Amin from Novartis Egypt expressed the company's commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Health. He believes this partnership will greatly improve care for heart patients in Egypt and lessen the impact of heart disease on the population.
