SDM has developed AI-powered technology that can detect the stages of chronic diseases such as diabetes through retinal imaging analysis of the eye. This technology makes healthcare accessible and disease detection automated without requiring physicians to be on site. As a result, the company was able to carry out a comprehensive mass detection reaching tens of thousands of people across Saudi Arabia (as of May 2024). It does that by partnering with major companies and nonprofits. Beyond diabetes, SDM aims to use the same tech to detect other diseases and has also launched an AI-powered chatbot to answer patients' diabetes-related questions.
