Lunit, UAE’s ARJ Group to deploy AI healthcare model across the Middle East

Lunit has stepped onto a bigger stage in the Middle East through a fresh agreement with ARJ Group in the UAE. The two sides shook hands during a government event linked to President Lee Jae Myung's visit to the country. It was more than a photo op. It signaled a shared push to bring AI-driven healthcare into hospitals that want to move fast and leap ahead.

As Lunit CEO Brandon Suh put it, the moment is "a meaningful first step toward introducing AI foundation model-based innovation in healthcare."

How will it work?

The partnership centers on Lunit's medical AI foundation model. It is still in development under a Korean government project, but the plan is simple. Test it. Validate it. Then place it inside hospitals and public medical systems across the UAE and nearby markets.

Here is what the two sides will focus on:

  • Pilot deployments in frontline hospitals
  • Technical validation with real-world data
  • Joint digital health projects that can speed up adoption
  • Use of ARJ Group's broad digital infrastructure to plug the model into existing systems

ARJ Group knows the terrain. Born in 1997, it grew into a major medical science and IT integrator that tailors solutions to local needs. It works with government agencies, public health players, large hospitals, and even energy firms. Its footprint spans the GCC and extends into Europe and China. In short, it gives Lunit the pipes, the people, and the pathways needed for scale.

Why does it matter?

AI in healthcare is no longer a moonshot. It is becoming a utility. But adoption in fast-growing regions still hinges on trusted partners who can guide hospitals through the maze of integration. That is where this deal starts to shine.

This collaboration gives Lunit a real opportunity to stress-test its foundation model across some of the Middle East's most ambitious health systems. It also opens the door to commercial opportunities. As Suh noted, the company now plans to "accelerate commercial activities and revenue growth in the Middle East" by leaning on ARJ Group's network.

For health providers, the upside is clear.

  • Faster diagnostics
  • More consistent clinical support
  • Digital tools that fit local workflows
  • A path to modernize without ripping out legacy systems

The context

The Ministry of Science and ICT brought together Korean firms with Middle Eastern partners as part of a broader strategy to strengthen AI and advanced technology cooperation. This deal sits right in that stream.

ARJ Group has spent decades building trust with governments and health systems across the Gulf. Its mix of medical engineering and IT integration places it in a rare spot. It can bridge policy ambitions with on-the-ground execution.

For Lunit, this is not just another MOU. It is a foothold in a region eager to adopt AI for scale, speed, and resilience. The Middle East is investing heavily in smart hospitals and national health platforms. A partnership like this meets the moment. It gives both sides room to build, test, and eventually roll out AI tools that can support clinicians from the emergency room to large public health networks.
