Three MENA-based startups join Google’s Growth Academy: AI for Health program

Google announced that it has accepted 24 startups to join its Growth Academy: AI for Health program.

Out of those 24, 3 are based in the MENA region, including:

  • AmplifAI (Saudi Arabia) combines AI driven thermography and computer vision to create a standardized and objective assessment for diabetic foot ulcers.
  • Motherbeing (Egypt) is a digital solution dedicated to Arab women's sexual and reproductive health. The platform connects users with doctors, experts, personalized health education, and an AI-powered health assistant.
  • O7 Therapy (Egypt) bridges the treatment gap with cutting-edge tech and top-tier mental health professionals. The O7 Therapy app offers instant, anonymous support via encrypted Chat, Audio and Video Sessions.

The three-month program kicked off last week in Paris with an in-person summit connecting founders to industry experts and other founders building with AI in the healthcare and wellbeing space.

Over the next ten weeks, participants will join virtual workshops on best practices for AI and leadership development, responsible innovation, product design and customer acquisition — as well as one-on-one mentorship sessions and technical project support from experts from Google Research, Google Health, Verily, Fitbit, Google DeepMind and more.

After the initial three months of core content, startups continue to receive product support and mentorship from Google to help them address their challenges.

Google's announcement ends with a video about Google for Startups programs featuring the founders from the 2023 edition of the Growth Academy: AI for Health program. That cohort included 2 startups from the MENA region - Pharmacy Marts and Wellx.
