US-based company raises funding for its AI-enabled nursing care solution

Boston, Massachusetts, US-based OutcomesAI has raised $10 million in seed funding, led by Santé Ventures, to tackle one of healthcare's most significant challenges: the global nursing shortage. The company's proposition is simple yet bold — blend artificial intelligence with human nursing expertise to multiply capacity rather than replace people.
As CEO Kuldeep Singh Rajput puts it, "We're not replacing nurses — we're multiplying them."
How does it work?
At the heart of OutcomesAI is Glia, an AI engine designed specifically for nursing. It pairs AI voice agents with licensed nurses to handle everything from triage to post-acute follow-ups. Here's how it plays out in practice:
- Voice agents handle inbound and outbound patient calls, collect symptoms, schedule visits, and educate patients in multiple languages.
- Nurses, in turn, are backed by real-time productivity tools — think scribing, protocol guidance, and automated documentation.
- This hybrid workflow unlocks three to five times more nursing capacity, trims costs by nearly half compared to outsourcing, and improves patient satisfaction.
Why does it matter?
Healthcare is buckling under the weight of a global shortage — an estimated 13 million nurses will be missing by 2030. Nearly half of those still in the workforce are considering leaving, exhausted by administrative overload and relentless demands. Specialty care waits exceed a month, and virtual care platforms face message volumes ten times higher than before.
Joe Cunningham, M.D., Founding Managing Director at Santé Ventures, sums up the urgency: "The industry is desperate for scalable solutions. We believe this approach can redefine virtual care and set a new standard for safety, empathy, and efficiency." By giving nurses back their time, OutcomesAI offers a shot at sustainability for systems on the brink.
The context
OutcomesAI isn't entering the scene cold. The company recently launched the OutcomesAI Collaboratory, a consortium of major health systems and virtual care providers testing Glia's accuracy and safety. Early findings are promising: Glia has slashed nurse workloads by hundreds of hours per month while doubling patient-to-nurse ratios.
The leadership team boasts serious credentials, comprising veterans from notable organizations such as Mayo Clinic, Amwell, Philips, Best Buy Health, and Biofourmis. Rajput himself built Biofourmis into a category leader before turning to this new frontier in tech-enabled nursing.
With fresh funding and a strong roster of board members, including Kevin White, Ph.D. (co-founder of Tempus AI) and Linda Finkel (AVIA), OutcomesAI is gearing up to scale. Its north star is clear: make nursing care scalable, affordable, and human again — powered, not burdened, by AI.
