UAE’s MoHAP and Dubai Awqaf partner to exchange data

In an important move to enhance connectivity and streamline data exchange, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement aims to improve the reporting process of births and deaths via the Government Services Link (TDRA GSB), marking a pivotal step in developing a robust infrastructure for efficient data integration between government entities.
How does it work?
The MoU focuses on creating a seamless process for exchanging death notifications. It was signed at the Ministry's headquarters in Dubai, with key representatives from both MoHAP and the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation present.
By establishing an electronic link between multiple government agencies — including the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security — the system ensures that population data related to births and deaths is updated promptly. This connectivity accelerates certification processes and updates health and administrative records efficiently, providing timely statistical reports essential for strategic planning.
Why does it matter?
The collaboration is a practical example of how intergovernmental cooperation can significantly enhance public services.
HE Abdullah Ahmed Ahli, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector, emphasized the importance of this MoU in fostering digital transformation within the health sector.
"The MoU provides a practical example of cooperative effort as it facilitates the interconnection of data on death notifications, thereby enhancing the quality of health and social services provided to the community," he said.
The context
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote digital transformation and improve administrative efficiency in Dubai. The partnership is designed to foster effective communication and collaboration between MoHAP and the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, supporting shared strategic objectives through the mutual exchange of relevant information and data. HE Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, highlighted that this collaboration supports the foundation's goal of creating a sustainable endowment environment that benefits the community in religious, scientific, and health sectors.
"This initiative supports the foundation's objective of creating a sustainable endowment environment that serves the community. The electronic connectivity with the Ministry enhances proactive follow-up, registration, and execution of charitable wills, ensuring the rights stipulated in the wills are preserved and accurately documented," he added.
By leveraging modern technologies and communication tools, the partnership not only streamlines endowment processes but also establishes a reliable and effective database, significantly improving the quality of services offered to the community. This MoU exemplifies how strategic collaboration and technological integration can drive progress and efficiency in public service delivery.
