Pearson’s Revibe uses a Samsung smartwatch to help users focus

Losing focus isn't just a schoolyard problem — it's something that trails many of us into adulthood. Whether it's finishing homework or filing reports, distractions chip away at productivity and confidence. For children, the impact can be profound, stunting both learning and emotional growth. To tackle this head-on, Samsung and Pearson have teamed up to deliver a smart, science-driven solution: Revibe, an AI-powered wearable built on the Samsung Galaxy Watch7.
"After evaluating multiple wearable solutions, we determined that the Samsung Galaxy Watch was the right device for Revibe," said Rich Brancaccio, Senior Director at Pearson and founder of Revibe. His team's goal? To help people reclaim focus, attention, and self-control — without making it feel like work.
How does it work?
Revibe isn't your typical smartwatch app. It's a finely tuned companion that learns your behavior and nudges you gently back on track.
- The system reads data from the Galaxy Watch's sensors — everything from steps and fidgeting to calories burned.
- It uses AI to translate that real-time data into meaningful insights.
- When attention drifts, subtle vibrations act as reminders to refocus.
- On-screen "light bulb moments" guide users without interrupting those around them.
The device can run in Freestanding Mode, meaning it doesn't rely on a smartphone. That's a significant issue, especially for children who are not allowed to bring phones to school. Revibe also comes wrapped in Samsung's Knox mobile security platform, ensuring privacy and reliability for sensitive behavioral data.
"With Knox Manage," said Cherry Drulis, Senior Director at Samsung, "Revibe can apply policies to the Galaxy Watch, including software updates and a distraction-free interface."
Why does it matter?
Focus isn't just about school or work — it's about living fully in the moment. For those with attention difficulties, including ADHD, this kind of real-time support can be life-changing. Revibe combines behavioral science with cutting-edge technology, providing families, educators, and clinicians with a clear view of each user's progress through a user-friendly dashboard.
It's not just tracking — it's teaching. By helping people self-correct in the moment, Revibe builds better habits for the long haul. As Brancaccio put it, it empowers users "to reach their fullest potential."
The context
The collaboration between Samsung and Pearson represents something larger: a quiet revolution in how we think about assistive technology. Instead of bulky tools or stigmatizing labels, Revibe offers discretion and dignity.
Both companies are betting on inclusivity as the next frontier of tech innovation. Starting with the Galaxy Watch7 series, the partnership plans to expand to more Samsung devices and reach classrooms, clinics, and homes worldwide.
It's a subtle but significant shift — from managing attention to mastering it.
