GluCare rebrands as Metabolic, expands beyond diabetes care

A Dubai health company has rebranded itself to reflect its expanded focus beyond diabetes. GluCare.Health, founded in 2020, is now called Metabolic and offers care for a wider range of metabolic conditions including obesity, PCOS, fatty liver disease, and cardiovascular problems.
The change reflects growing medical understanding that these conditions are interconnected. Rather than treating each separately, Metabolic aims to address the underlying metabolic problems that drive multiple health issues.
How does it work?
Metabolic's approach centers on what it calls "Metabolic OS" - a hybrid care system that combines remote monitoring, advanced testing, and AI decision support with human doctors and specialists.
The platform tracks patients continuously between visits using various devices and tests. AI analyzes this data to spot problems early and suggest treatments, but doctors make the final decisions. The company emphasizes that AI supports clinicians rather than replacing them.
"We've built what we wish the healthcare system had from day one: an operating system for metabolic risk," said CEO Ali Hashemi. "Not a collection of apps, devices, and disconnected tests, but an integrated model where data becomes signal, signal becomes action, and action translates into outcomes."
Why does it matter?
Traditional healthcare often treats metabolic problems only when they become serious. Metabolic's model tries to catch issues earlier and provide ongoing support between doctor visits.
The company reports significant health improvements in patients. Studies show HbA1c reductions of up to 2.3 percentage points, 10% weight loss within three months, 15% reductions in waist circumference, 30% lower triglycerides, and 12% reductions in blood pressure.
Dr. Ihsan Almarzooqi, Managing Director and Co-Founder, noted the urgent need in the UAE: "A large proportion of people living with type 2 diabetes remain uncontrolled, and the same metabolic drivers are fueling obesity, cardiovascular disease, fatty liver disease, and hormonal disorders."
The context
Metabolic conditions are rising globally, particularly in the Middle East where diabetes and obesity rates are among the world's highest. The UAE faces particular challenges with lifestyle-related health problems.
The rebrand comes as more healthcare companies try to move from reactive treatment to preventive care. By using continuous monitoring and AI analysis, Metabolic aims to spot problems before they require emergency treatment or major interventions.
The company holds accreditation from several international medical organizations including the International Consortium of Health Outcome Measures and Joint Commission International. It plans to expand to the UK in 2026 and the US in 2027.
GluCare.Health will continue as Metabolic's research division, focusing on generating evidence and developing new approaches to metabolic health care.
