AvaSure taps Oracle and NVIDIA for its AI-powered virtual concierge for hospitals

Virtual care technology developer AvaSure is teaming up with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and NVIDIA to introduce a groundbreaking AI-powered virtual concierge for hospitals and healthcare systems. This innovative solution aims to enhance patient care and streamline clinical workflows by leveraging advanced AI technologies from NVIDIA, Oracle, and AvaSure's own Intelligent Virtual Care Platform.
The result will be a smarter, more connected hospital room experience that integrates seamlessly with both virtual and in-person care.
How does it work?
The virtual concierge functions much like a voice-activated assistant you might use at home. With a simple "wake word," healthcare providers can instantly request additional support, translation services, or communicate with other care team members. For patients and their families, the concierge makes it easier to request assistance, ask questions, or connect with their case manager for health guidance, all through an intuitive voice interface.
The concierge is powered by a combination of AvaSure's virtual care technology, Oracle's AI offerings like OCI Compute, and NVIDIA's AI infrastructure — including H200 Tensor Core GPUs and NIM microservices.
This collaboration brings together the best of AI technology to create a more responsive and personalized bedside experience across all hospital departments.
Why does it matter?
Hospitals are currently facing many challenges, including staffing shortages, rising costs, and increasingly complex patient needs. AI-driven solutions like this virtual concierge can alleviate the workload on bedside staff by handling routine tasks and communication, allowing healthcare professionals to focus on more critical aspects of patient care.
"This collaboration marks an exciting milestone in our mission to revolutionize patient care with intelligent virtual solutions," said Adam McMullin, CEO of AvaSure.
The virtual concierge addresses these issues by acting as a central point of coordination, triaging patient and staff requests in real-time, and enhancing the overall care experience for everyone involved.
The context
Healthcare organizations worldwide are moving toward creating "smart rooms" that blend advanced technologies with traditional care methods. This shift is largely driven by the need to optimize resources and improve patient outcomes in an increasingly strained environment by external pressures.
"AI-powered microservices can help hospitals and healthcare organizations enhance patient care experiences and improve operational efficiency," noted Brad Genereaux, global lead for healthcare alliances at NVIDIA.
By integrating AvaSure's virtual care expertise with Oracle's robust cloud infrastructure and NVIDIA's cutting-edge AI microservices, hospitals can deliver a more tailored and efficient approach to patient care.
The new virtual concierge solution, set to be available next year, promises to be a game-changer for hospitals and health systems looking to enhance patient care and optimize their clinical workflows. AvaSure, which has already demonstrated a strong return on investment with its virtual care platform, aims to build on this success by continuing to innovate in collaboration with industry leaders.
