Egyptian medical city adopts AI-powered hospital management platform

ITWORX Education has signed a deal to deploy its AI-powered hospital management platform at Global Medical City in Egypt. The partnership marks the Middle Eastern tech company's push into healthcare after years of focusing on education software.

Global Medical City will use Avicenna, ITWORX Education's hospital information system that combines clinical records with business operations on a single platform. The medical city calls itself Egypt's first fully integrated healthcare facility, offering multiple medical services under one roof.

How will it work?

Avicenna connects different hospital departments through one system instead of separate software for each function. The platform handles:

  • Patient medical records and clinical workflows
  • Hospital administration and scheduling
  • Financial operations and billing
  • Real-time data analysis for hospital managers

"It is built to scale across the full hospital ecosystem, connecting clinical, administrative, and financial functions on a single intelligent platform," said Hytham ElSaiid, COO of ITWORX Education.

The system uses AI to help doctors and administrators make faster decisions by analyzing patient data and hospital operations in real time.

Why does it matter?

This deal shows how software companies are targeting healthcare as hospitals digitize their operations. Many hospitals still run on outdated systems or multiple platforms that don't talk to each other, creating inefficiencies and data gaps.

For ITWORX Education, the partnership represents a major expansion beyond its traditional education market. Healthcare software is a growing business as hospitals invest in digital tools to improve patient care and reduce costs.

The move also reflects Egypt's broader push to modernize its healthcare infrastructure through technology partnerships with local and regional tech companies.

The context

Hospital information systems are becoming standard as healthcare facilities seek to streamline operations and improve patient outcomes. The global market for these platforms is expected to grow as more hospitals replace paper records and legacy software.

ITWORX Education developed Avicenna in-house over several years, testing it in complex healthcare environments before this commercial deployment. The company says the platform competes with leading global healthcare technology systems.

Egypt's healthcare sector has attracted increased investment and modernization efforts in recent years, with new medical facilities like Global Medical City representing a shift toward comprehensive, technology-enabled healthcare delivery.
