This company offers tech-enabled maternal care at home

In a world where maternal health too often falls through the cracks, New York-based SimpliFed aims to rewrite the playbook. The virtual maternal healthcare provider has recently secured $4 million in fresh funding to supercharge its mission of delivering seamless, at-home maternal care.
With backing from Morningside, The Artemis Fund, Cultivation Capital, and the American Heart Association's Social Impact Fund, among others - SimpliFed is set to expand its services and cement its role as a lifeline for new mothers. "We believe in the power of technology to ease the demands of caregiving and empower families to thrive," said Diana Murakhovskaya, General Partner at The Artemis Fund.
How does it work?
At its core, SimpliFed's approach is simple yet powerful: provide consistent, trusted support to mothers throughout pregnancy and postpartum, with baby feeding as the central focus. The company's longitudinal model partners with over 300 health systems, independent practices, and insurance providers to ensure moms have ongoing access to expert guidance. The results speak for themselves — 87% of SimpliFed's patients continue breastfeeding at three months, compared to the national average of 69%.
Now, the company is scaling up. Its newly enhanced Maternal Health Operating System (mOS) integrates high-risk monitoring, mental health screenings, and seamless connections to top-tier maternal mental healthcare. The technology itself is a powerhouse, boasting integrations with leading electronic medical records (EMRs) like Epic and Athena, alongside over 90 APIs for smooth interoperability. This means less friction for providers and better, more immediate care for patients.
"SimpliFed has made incredible progress on their mission to materially impact maternal health outcomes on a national scale," said Stephen Bruso, Board Member and Investor at Morningside.
Why does it matter?
The U.S. has a maternal health crisis. Postpartum depression and preeclampsia rates have doubled in the last decade, yet only 25% of women meet baby-feeding medical recommendations while balancing their personal goals. Traditional healthcare models treat maternal health and baby feeding as separate silos, but SimpliFed is determined to connect the dots.
"The health and well-being of a parent is deeply connected to baby feeding, and yet they are always treated in silos," said Andrea Ippolito, SimpliFed's CEO and Founder. "That's why we are steadfastly dedicated to changing the model and wrapping each family in complete care."
By reducing stress and anxiety for mothers, SimpliFed is addressing a critical gap. Their virtual-first approach ensures that women — especially those in underserved areas — get the help they need when they need it. And for an overwhelmed healthcare system, a scalable, tech-driven solution like SimpliFed can alleviate provider strain while improving outcomes.
The context
The reality is stark: the U.S. has one of the highest maternal mortality rates among developed nations. Many women, particularly those in rural or marginalized communities, face limited access to quality postpartum care. Telehealth has been hailed as a game-changer, but too many solutions are fragmented, offering only piecemeal support. SimpliFed is different. By delivering end-to-end maternal healthcare — baby feeding support, mental health services, and high-risk monitoring — it's closing a critical care gap.
The situation is better in the GCC countries, but this kind of platform would find its audience here as well. And, we're certain, mothers in other MENA countries would find it useful. Any takers to launch something like this?
