Saudi Arabia’s Children with Disability Association taps Amazon for Alexa education initiative

In a significant development for the Middle East, the Children with Disability Association in Saudi Arabia has collaborated with Amazon.

This partnership introduces a specialized Alexa program to enhance education and rehabilitation classes.

The initiative aims to integrate advanced technology into the learning environments of children with disabilities, focusing on creating Arabic content tailored to their unique rehabilitation needs.

How does it work?

The program involves deploying 28 Alexa devices across various classrooms and rehabilitation halls within the association's facilities. This move is designed to convert these spaces into smart classrooms, facilitating a more interactive and responsive learning experience for children with disabilities.

The integration of Alexa devices is expected to offer substantial support to these children, aiding in their educational and rehabilitative efforts.

This collaboration between the Children with Disability Association and Amazon signifies a forward-thinking approach to leveraging technology in educational settings. By customizing Alexa devices to meet the specific needs of children with disabilities, this initiative promises to positively impact their learning and rehabilitation processes.

The context

Dr. Ahmed Al-Tamimi, CEO of the Children with Disability Association, led a delegation that included representatives from Alexa, Amazon, and the Ministry of Education on a tour of the Riyadh center. This visit allowed the delegation to observe the practical application of Alexa devices in the center's operations. They witnessed how these devices are utilized in therapeutic, rehabilitative, and educational programs.

The visit also included briefings on the association's comprehensive care, rehabilitation, and educational services. During this time, discussions focused on how Alexa technology could be further leveraged to enhance these services for specialists working with children with disabilities and the children themselves.
